      Medicinal Mushrooms, Not Imposters!

Don't be fooled: Nearly all pet mushroom products are mycelium. Mycelium is not a true mushroom product. It's a partially-grown fungus, usually grown on grains, and it's often lower in beta-glucans ... (that research shows is a really important medicinal ingredient that can help fight cancer and boost immunity.)

Don't buy ground up grains with only part of the mushroom ... Four Leaf Rover Turkey Tail is a true medicinal mushroom. We use whole mushrooms, grown naturally on wood in the fresh air, not on grains.

Reasons to consider Turkey Tail Mushrooms for your dog ...

      • Medicinal mushrooms have been used for hundreds of years to fight off infection
      • There is an active compound in Turkey Tail mushrooms (PSK) that is being used to treat cancer in Japan
      • Four Leaf Rover's Turkey Tail extract is easy to sprinkle on top of your dog's meal

        FAQs

Why are most mushroom products not really mushrooms?

Mushrooms contain a fruiting body (the part of the mushroom you'd recognize) and mycelium, the part that grows underground or inside the plant. Think of the mycelium as the roots of the mushroom. Nearly all mushroom products are mycelium, not the actual mushroom. They're grown in a lab on sterilized grains (such as rice, sorghum or oats) and ground into a powder.

If you're buying a mycelium product, you're not getting the beta-glucan-rich content of the fruiting body. Beta-glucans are the active compounds in mushrooms. Fruiting bodies are full spectrum and also offer more vitamins and minerals. You're not getting a real mushroom and your dog is not getting all of the health benefits.

How are Four Leaf Rover mushrooms grown?

Four Leaf Rover's mushrooms are grown on wood, just as they would in nature. This guarantees the medicinal compounds will be in the mushrooms. They're grown in greenhouses with a constant flow of fresh air and water, along with natural sunlight. After harvesting, every mushroom is tested for chemicals or contamination.

Why are your mushrooms water extracted and not dried?

Fruiting bodies require hot water extraction to break down the chitin in the cell walls. Dogs and humans lack the enzyme to do this, so extraction is necessary to get all the nutrients from the fruiting body. Extraction pulls out the beta-glucans. The extraction is then purified and dried into a powder with all the beneficial mushroom parts intact.

How can I be sure your mushrooms are high quality?

Every batch of mushrooms is checked for bacteria, heavy metals, and pesticides. The mushroom extracts are then tested for beta-glucan content to make sure the mushrooms are truly medicinal. Our mushrooms are certified organic, and free from heavy metals and pesticides. No mycelium, no grains and no starch ever.

Can I give my dog mushrooms more than once a day?

If your dog doesn't have any health challenges, once a day should be enough. But if your dog is fighting illness, you can give mushrooms twice daily.

Every Dog Deserves A Healthy, Happy Life!

We love dogs and we try to give them the best life possible. Money is no object when it comes to their food and veterinary care ... but half of adult dogs today will still get cancer.

That's a staggering statistic - and it's a statistic we want to do something about.

And that's how Dogs Naturally was born - out of a need to get back to basics and change our dog's health care from chemicals, drugs, pesticides, antibiotics and processed foods, to whole fresh foods, proven natural supplements and a strong, healthy immune system. We believe the path to a truly healthy dog lies not in protecting him from disease with chemicals, but in supporting his health and immune system so he doesn't get disease in the first place.

We believe that good health and disease resistance come from within - so we work with leading holistic veterinarians to help dog owners like you give their dogs the gift of good health through a more natural lifestyle.

Everything we do is to support you in your own journey toward natural healthcare. From the magazine to the free blog articles and guides, from the DNM Academy to DNM University, we're here to give you a safe, friendly community where you can get quick health tips and even earn certifications in natural healthcare topics.

Dogs Naturally Market is just one part of that community. While we offer many free, DIY guides for dog owners, some of you want a "done for you" approach. So we built a small, exclusive collection of high-quality natural products at an affordable price. These are products we've tested and recommend - and they're products we use on our own dogs too.

We're delighted to offer this friendly, online neighborhood market! We encourage you to have a look around and visit our free Dogs Naturally blog articles. It doesn't matter if you're a natural health expert or you're just trying out some new natural products - we're here to help you every step of the way, and to provide a welcoming, supportive community to help you along your journey ...

… that’s what Dogs Naturally Magazine is all about.
